It’s famous (amongst its audience which consists of guests and our staff mainly). There is something infinitely comforting about a slice of really fantastic warm bread slathered in fresh farm butter. It’s impossible to beat. Here is one of our personal favourite recipes which has only 5 ingredients. Easy to make, and even easier to eat.
Good bread is the most fundamentally satisfying of all foods; and good bread with fresh butter, the greatest of feasts.” ~ James Beard
Ingredients
3 cups of Atta Flour (Atta flour is a fine wholemeal wheat flour originating from the Indian subcontinent and is used to make flatbreads such as chapati, roti, and naan)
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of Bicarbonate of soda
500mls Yoghurt
3 tbs Honey
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180-degree celcius
Combine the honey and yoghurt and stir carefully
Place all the dry ingredients into a bowl
Add the honey and yoghurt mixture to the dry ingredients
Mix well and pour into a greased loaf tin
Bake for 50 min – 1 hour
Use a wooden skewer to check if the bread is baked through – the skewer should come our clean. If not baked through, put it back in the over for another 5 -1 0 minutes
Once baked through, remove the load from the tin and let it cool on a wire rack
Serving suggestion:
Serve with farm-fresh butter!
